Bald Eagles Invade Lake of the Ozarks
January 8 & 9, 2011 - Willmore Lodge, Osage National Golf Resort, Bagnell Dam
Get out your coats, hats and gloves for one of the most popular winter events at the Lake of the Ozarks. Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days will return for its 11th year at the Lake on Saturday, January 8, 2011 and Sunday, January 9, 2011. The first live eagle program held in 1999 attracted 651 participants. Last year, over 3,700 people attended to make it one of the most successful Eagle Days in years past.
A collective partnership with the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau along with Osage National Golf Resort, announces Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days 2011 will return to Lake Ozark in January. Mark your calendars now for January 8-9, 2011 for this entertaining and educational event. Highlights of the program include live eagles from the World Bird Sanctuary with naturalists on hand to answer questions at Osage National Golf Resort. The programs will begin on the hour each day of the event. Interactive exhibits and crafts will take place at Willmore Lodge. Eagle watch cruises (weather permitting) will be offered by the Paddlewheeler Tom Sawyer on Saturday at 11 AM, Noon, 1 PM and 2 PM and Sunday at 11 AM, Noon and 1 PM for only $5 per person. Visitors are urged to bring binoculars and cameras for optimal viewing and photo opportunities of wild eagles at Willmore Lodge and below the Bagnell Dam on the Osage River.
This event is FREE (except for small charge for the boat cruise) and open to the public. The event will be from 9am – 4pm on Saturday, January 8th and from 10am – 3pm on Sunday, January 9th. It is the community spirit of the Lake of the Ozarks that makes this annual event possible for all to enjoy.
There is also a coloring contest for kids 12 and under and a photo contest for anyone over the age of 13. Details can be found on the website by clicking the following link.
