Obviously the wrong camera settings, but I really like this photo. I don't get to photograph Elsie to often, she's a lot more camera shy. When I look at this shot I think about is how great this would have been with a simple turn of a dial on the camera. This Juvie flew right over us. Even though it's only half an eagle, I like it. A Juvie flew across right in front of us. I like this one because of the wing tips behind the bushes. Two seconds before, with some food and grass in his talons he looked like this. Stein sitting on a dock ramp railing after dropping off a fish to the Juvies. I would call this the luckiest fish in the lake. Leaving a tree Stein glides across the water towards the nest. A fish surfaces right as he flies over. A couple seconds earlier and he would have been dinner. Just after this is when Stein grabbed the rat floating in the water. I sat on the deck watching the sunset for about 20 minutes the other night, while Stein sat in a tree. Stein has a habit of stopping off for a few bites of fish before he delivers the rest to the nest. You can see the fishes tail hanging below the tree limb and a bee flying over Steins back. While he was eating, Elsie flew in. I was hoping she would land on the same limb and share the fish with him. But she landed on a limb above him and just stared down on him for a couple minutes, before flying off. A Juvie soaring high over the cove.
